Looking at my brief I started by creating a mood board to look at all possible ideas for my MP3 housing.
"My MP3 product will be a corporate 'freebie' used to promote the launch of one of the following new ventures..."
Each area offers something different.
2012 Olympics - lots of colour (mainly based on the logo), quite rigid shapes, very modern and clean cut. Patriotic and ideal for the intended users. The mascot would be a great shape to incorporate a speaker in.
Tron Legacy - a film by Disney foucussing on circles. You can see the use of the curves in the title, the motorbike, the helmet and the costumes. The bikes wheels would be an ideal start for the housing. The colour is blue which is used alot in the film.
Rail Network - the trains all have different shapes especially the front of the trains, the windows and doors also. I could even look at the shape of the track or inside a train station - which is made up of arches. This could be the start of housing a speaker.
Sports Drinks - there are millions of different shaped bottles on the market. The colours are all bold and show energy. The bottles are also suitable to hold in the hand. Logos are showing forms of energy like the lightening bolt for example.
The sports drinks appealed to me the most. Each bottle had a different look and was individual. I think the curves and features on the bottles would be great to use in designing an MP3 housing. Here I have looked at more energy sports drinks i.e the different logos, shapes and colours used:
